What is it?
We analyze the specific situation and offer the most optimal design registration strategy. We help you choose the correct classes of products for the use of your design according to the international Locarno Classification. We prepare the necessary documents, perform design registration, and administer the entire design registration process.
Why is this necessary?
Design registration provides the best protection for the product’s image (compared to
other alternatives – copyright object protection, spatial trademark registration,
and unregistered design).

What is it?
We monitor design validity periods, timely inform you about the need to extend the validity and prepare design protection extension documents.
Why is this necessary?
It is essential to know that the design is registered and stored for 25 years, but one must extend registration once every 5 years.
Deadline
It is necessary to extend the validity of the design registration at least 6 months in until the design registration expires.
What is it?
We carry out specific procedures after design registration and help dispose of it: to transfer, pledge or grant licenses for others to use your intellectual property or part of it in considering a chosen territory or goods. We register changes to the design owner’s name or address in the official registers.
Why is this necessary?
Transferring, pledging, or granting licenses for others to use your intellectual property ownership ensures the possibility of receiving financial benefits.
What is it?
Small and medium-sized enterprises/start-ups receive support for the protection of intellectual property from the SME Fund. The SME fund “Ideas Powered for Business” is an initiative of the European Commission, implemented by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), with a budget of 16 million euros in 2022. The applications for compensation can be submitted by all small and medium-sized companies established in the EU. One company can claim support of up to 2,250 euros.
Why is this necessary?
Companies are invited to apply for reimbursement of part of the expenses by recovering up to 75 % trademark filing and registration fees at national, regional and EU level, or 50% may also be reimbursed from trademark taxes outside the EU. Our intellectual property experts can take care of the entire support process. We are constantly looking for ways to reduce your costs for intellectual property protection.
A design is the image of a product or part thereof consisting of specific properties of the product and/or its specific ornamental properties such as lines, contours, colors, shape, texture and/or material. A design is intended to distinguish your product from other products available on the market and provides added value to your product.
To protect the design’s uniqueness, it is advisable to register your design. Registration grants the exclusive right to use the design and prevents other persons from using your work and receiving financial benefits in a specified territory.
A design may be registered and protected if it is novel and has individual character. This means that no other identical design must be publicly available before the date of submission of your application to the patent office and that the overall impression of the design created for consumers differs from the overall impression created by any other design. A design qualifies as identical to another design if its properties differ only slightly from those of another design. Furthermore, a design that you wish to register may not contain a third party trademark or official state symbols.
The image of a product may be protected in several ways: as an object of copyright, as a three-dimensional trademark, as an unregistered design and as a registered design. Registration of a design guarantees the best and most appropriate protection for the image of a product.
